Milwaukee Country ARES has been Activated!

All Milwaukee ARES Members needed to fill

4 hour Shifts.  See text below!

Milwaukee County ARES has been activated by Milwaukee County Emergency 
Management to assist with Flood relief starting next week.   
 
This will be a large scale activation, and we will need members to assist in 4 
hr blocks.  Members are needed Monday, August 2nd through Saturday, August 7th.   
The 4hr blocks will be 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, and 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. 
 
COAD will be opening a Command Post at Hampton Elementary School in the City of 
Milwaukee, located at 5000 N 53rd St. 
 
ARES is needed to provide communications for teams that will be canvassing 
effected areas to do damage assessment and cleanup.   Members will be combined 
with other disaster relief workers (COAD) to form several task forces.  In 
addition to the ARES members assigned to the task forces, we will need Net 
Control Operators, which will probably be located at the COAD Command Post. 
 
This is a significant activation, and we will be requesting ARES members from 
other counties to assist as well. 
 
Many details are still being worked out, and we will have more information in 
the coming days.  In the mean time, we need to start filling the 4hr shift 
blocks.
